Following the unfortunate cancellation of the 2021 L’Etape UK we contacted all riders; however we realise you might have some additional questions. We have put together this page of the most common here:

How do I defer my entry to L’Etape UK 2022?

We don’t need you to take any action to take this option. After the 31st March our team will transfer all your details across to the event next year. If you don’t want to take part next year you need to choose one of the options below before this time.

During April you will receive an email confirming the transfer to 2022 has been completed.

What if I’d like to defer my entry and change my distance for 2022?

This will have to be done manually once we have confirmed your entry for 2022 (you will receive an email to let you know the transfer has been completed in April). Log in to your account and follow the instructions to amend your entry. You will have to pay the difference and any refunds will be subject to an admin fee. 

If you want to change your distance you will need to action this by the end of August 2021

I’d like to transfer/gift my entry to a friend

You must complete this action by Wednesday 31st March 2021. All substitutions must be done online, and a £10 fee will be charged as per our normal transfer process. This £10 fee will cover some, but ultimately not all, of the fixed costs incurred in planning the original event as well as admin fees charged to us for this action. For more information click here.

To access your account, follow this link or copy and paste it into your browser. Once logged in, scroll to find the L’Etape UK event and select ‘Transfer Registration’. You will then be required to input the new participants email address. Once you select to transfer your entry to another person, they will receive an email to accept the transfer. The new participant needs to complete the registration process, including payment. This payment will also include any price increases to event entry. Once this has been completed, the original participant will receive the refund, less the £10 fee.

Can I get a refund?

If you are unable to attend L’Etape UK 2022 then in light of the extraordinary circumstances, as per our terms and conditions in our contract we will be offering refunds minus a small £5 admin fee. Please note your original booking fee charged by Active is non-refundable, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. The average booking fee cost was around £5 per person, plus £5 admin fee = an average of £10 per person.  

The £5 fee covers some, but ultimately not all of, a fee charged to us to refund, some unrecoverable event costs and staff time.

I purchased a premium entry type for L’Etape UK, what happens to my stuff?

Any packages you purchased for the L'Etape UK 2020 and thus rolled over to 2021, will again be rolled over to the new 2022 event. If you want to be refunded, each part of your bundle has a different process, see below for the process for each item. 

Rapha Jersey

If you are cancelling your entry and not taking part in the 2022 L'Etape UK event, and you had purchased a jersey on entry, you will be refunded this. If you had purchased a jersey and you are taking part in 2022, then your order will be for the 2022 event jersey. 

If you purchased your jersey through the event shop, and not on entry, please contact Scimitar Sports at humanrace@scimitarsports.com to confirm you would like to cancel your order by 31st March.

Personalised medal from iTAB

Your iTAB medal personalisation will be transferable to the rescheduled event, any other event run by us or any other event worldwide.  For further information contact info@mysportingtimes.com

What if I have booked accommodation or transport?

Sadly, any bookings for services not listed as part of the event are not covered by our refunds policy. You will have to investigate what options are available directly with that service provider.

I have purchased Registration Protection. How do I claim my refund?

If you have purchased Registration Protection from Booking Protect during your registration for L'Etape UK you are able to claim back a refund if your circumstances are covered. Please click here for more information on booking protect.
